A Victorian Faire of Fantastic Mechanical Creations!
Steampunk Fans and Families Come Together at The Gilded Festival: November 29 - December 1st, 2013
King of Prussia, PA — September 10, 2013 : The Gilded Festival, an eclectic combination of Steampunk-flavored performances, discussion panels, art, and family-friendly children's activities marks its first-ever event in King of Prussia, PA this Nov. 29 - Dec. 1st, 2013.
Guests and Performers include Aurelio Voltaire, Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer, The Valley Forge Dance School, The Divine Hand Ensemble, Steampunk Boba Fett, The Wandering Cellist, Platform One, This Way to the Egress, and many more .
Aside from concerts and other performances, the event will also feature an amazing fashion show, presentations on history, fashion, literature, and culture, kid-friendly activities and workshops during the day, and even a special humorous film presentation we like to call "Mystery Steampunk Theater"!
The Festival will kick off on the evening of Black Friday with an event that we're calling "The Orphan's Dinner". It's the holiday season, and maybe you don't have family or friends nearby who you can easily celebrate with. Or maybe you would enjoy a holiday dinner in the company of fellow freaks, geeks, and steampunks like yourself. Well, starting at 6pm, that is EXACTLY what we are offering in the Doubletree Hotel's restaurant! For an additional price, you can enjoy a fine Thanksgiving-style meal with other attendees and performers at the Festival! You can even attend the dinner in your steampunk finery, and nobody will even look at you twice... except maybe to compliment you on your fine outfit!
And then, of course, there is our massive vendor's area... at least THREE rooms of merchants selling all sorts of rare and unusual wares for the discerning customer! And, this weekend being the traditional start of the "Holiday Shopping Season", you will have a wonderfully unique opportunity to purchase those unique and one-of-a-kind gifts that you would never be able to find anywhere else!
The event’s founder, Gil Cnaan, said, “Gilded Festival was started to be an inspiring and unique Thanksgiving holiday experience. We are bringing the performances, art, and ambiance of boutique Steampunk events like Philadelphia's Dorian's Parlor to families. Not only that but it’s a holiday experience that they won't soon forget.”
The event features performances, discussion panels, children’s events, and a whole array of artisans. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Gift of Life Foundation.
